ok,I am looking to buy a pair of speakers to run thru my Mac IBook........good and loud but not too powerful.....something nice for a small outdoor party or similar circumstances........I'd prefer not to have to get an amp if possible? thanx.......

i don't recommend the mackies because they are (imo) OBSCENELY heavy and kinda "bright" sounding.
